The Ascent.

This picture is very close to the actual trail, in fact the way we chose to begin was just to the right of this small waterfall. The waterfall is created by melting snow in what is called the "Chute". The Chute is a very fast way down the mountain, When the snow is not there it is made up from loose gravel. |
| After you get up the really steep cliff section it breaks out into a scenic wooded area. This place was nice and shaded and perfect for a picnic. But we weren't here to have a picnic. Lets keep climbing.! |  |

While still in the trees, we managed to sneak in this great shot of the mountains across the bay. This picture is just a warm up for some really nice ones. We knew they were coming so we pressed on. After a winter of the lazy life this hike was already wearing us down. |
